Plan ahead for the Easter Holidays…
Llangorse Multi Activity Centre has lots of things for the Kids to do at Easter!
From 6 years old they can take part in an Indoor Climbing Activity Session, and from 4 years they can have their first taste of horse-riding with a led pony ride for half an hour.
At 9 years they can 'scramble' up the Dingle, which is wet & muddy, but great fun! At 12 years and over they can tackle the Multi-Level Challenge Course, or zip through the air from platform to platform on Sky Trek.
If you want to stay at Llangorse for the day, then there are always the great value Multi Activity Fun Days where you can try a bit of everything. The centre is open on weekdays until 10pm, so even big Kids can go after work!
There are lots of things to do in the Riding Centre, too. Fun Days & Holidays where you learn to groom, tack up, have lessons and win rosettes. You can get your own pony for a day, or three, and really get a chance to have fun and improve your riding.
There are also one & two hour treks for beginners, rides with some cantering for intermediate riders and faster hacks for the more experienced.
What better way to enjoy the countryside and stunning views across Llangorse Lake & The Brecon Beacons beyond - it beats sitting in front of the TV or a computer game, and is much better for your health, too!

Soroptimist International fly for charity!
The 'Wales South' region of the Soroptimist International fundraising organisation recently tried the Sky Trek Experience in the name of charity. The 8 members who took the challenge raised a massive £1300 in aid of the prevention of 'Lassa Fever', a disease which is spread by rats and kills over 3,000 people a year in Sierra Leone.

Every member who took part managed to complete the course, and found that sailing through the air across open farmland with beautiful views of the Brecon Beacons and Llangorse Lake is quite relaxing after all!
Duke of Edinburgh Challenge 2009 Finale
The final challenge of the Duke of Edinburgh's Awards' Challenge 2009 was held at the Dingle Scramble Course at Llangorse Multi Activity Centre. Competitors had to complete the wet and muddy uphill climb, and return to the beginning in a target time of 15 minutes! Also competing were the presenter's of ITV Wales News.

Welsh Climbing Championships – Round 1
Llangorse Multi Activity Centre recently hosted Round 1 of the new 'Welsh Climbing Championships'. Over 70 climbers of all ages came from across Wales and beyond to compete in the competition, hoping to get off to a good start in the championship. The scoring system means that every hold on every route is worth points - the higher you climb, the more points you score - therefore encouraging everyone (especially the younger climbers) to do the best they can.
Well done to Morgan Preece from the Llangorse Team, who came 1st in the 14 - 16 years age group.

Abseil at St. Mary’s Church, Brecon
We recently ran an Abseil down St. Mary's Church Tower in Brecon, raising money for the Firefighters Charity & the Air Ambulance for Wales. The Abseil took place on 29th August 2009, with Firefighters, Air Ambulance Crew and Members of the Public all taking part.
5,000 square feet of New Climbing & Boudering area is NOW OPEN!
We recently opened 5,000 square feet of new Climbing & Bouldering surface on Wednesday 22nd July. The new area was officially opened by Alun Ffred Jones AM, the Minister for Heritage, and was followed by a climbing demonstration, talk and coaching sessions by the renowned Scottish climber, Dave MacLeod! BMC Youth Climbing Series 2009
Some of our younger climbing members recently competed in the regional rounds of the BMC Youth Climbing Series at climbing centre's across South Wales, with the aim of getting through to the British final at the Westway Sports Centre in London. One of those people was Morgan Preece, 16, who managed to get through to the final, and came third in Britain out of his age group (Boys 14-16). Congratulations Morgan! Sky Trek was recently part of the University of the Great Outdoors event at Hampton Court, Herefordshire. Over 900 people enjoyed seeing the landscape of Herefordshire as they sailed through the air! The Sky Trek was opened by 'the Original Stig' (aka Perry McCarthy).
